Challenge #4: Praise your Child

Take the time to acknowledge the good your child does.  Thank them when they do something right.  It feels good to be praised.  Rewarding positive behavior with praise is better than handling negative behavior with criticism.  Your child wants are reaction so at times it may be appropriate to ignore them.  For example, if your child is whining I may at times say “I can’t here you when you talk like that” and I ignore them.  Soon they stop whining and communicate in a more appropriate manner.
